Kompost Kids is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming our “waste” stream through active landfill diversion and local disposal of food residuals and other compostables.
To our knowledge, we are Milwaukee’s only free continuously operating self-drop community compost site. Our Milwaukee neighbors bring their food scraps and small amounts of other yard organics that we process into compost. We have always donated this nutrient rich soil to the community either through large scale direct to garden giveaways and free self-help compost.
New in 2025, we’re going to pilot test Bokashi Composting.
